Valley of the Rats is Brivido Giallo’s third film, the company having previously produced the films REVERSED and the multi award-winning GLASS, all three of these films are held firmly in the stylings of the visually dazzling European horror-mystery thrillers of the 1970s while broadening modern artistic exploration in this genre.

“Valley of the Rats” tells the story of a young man accused of his ex-girlfriend’s murder. Before he’s formally charged by the police, he sets out on a two-day odyssey to find the real killer – tracking down his leads from the backseat of a rented limousine; which allows him to converse and ponder class society, life in the city, and contemplate the dirt that runs in the small nooks and valleys of cosmopolitan life. Two-thirds of the way through this wildly kinetic film, the style switches to Brivido Giallo’s contemporary, wordless, operatic imagery of sex and violence that will close out a loose trilogy of new gialli films.
